Paisley’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2021 helped transform perceptions of the town. Renfrewshire council are determined to harness the power of its internationally-significant heritage and cultural story to transform its future.

New destination brand website promotes the area as great place to live, visit and invest with a constantly updating array of content.

Working closely with the council’s in-house marketing team and brand specialists Graphical House we helped to plan the site architecture and content, and implemented a fully content managed build using WordPress as the CMS.

Having experienced other content managed websites in the past that were too restrictive in terms of layout, the marketing team needed complete freedom and flexibility, allowing them to build pages to fit their content and not the other way around. We built a highly modular ‘page builder’ into WordPress that gives that that freedom. After a 2-3 hour training session the team were able to populate the site content in-house.
