Design

The design process focused on creating a vibrant, engaging and accessible digital experience that reflects North Lanarkshire’s diverse arts, culture and community programme. The visual approach combines bold colour palette, confident typography and flexible layouts, maintaining a clear and consistent identity throughout the website.

Careful consideration was given to navigation and information hierarchy to create clear user journeys; helping visitors quickly discover upcoming events, explore venues and find practical information. Responsive website design ensures the experience remains intuitive across phones, tablets and desktop devices, making the website accessible to audiences wherever they are browsing.

Development

Built on WordPress, the website provides the North Lanarkshire Culture team with a flexible and easy-to-manage content management system. Bespoke page templates and structured content areas allow the team to manage events, venues, news, campaigns and general website content without compromising the consistency of the design.

Performance, accessibility, security and search engine optimisation were considered throughout the development process. The result is a fast, responsive and scalable platform designed to handle regular content updates while providing a strong technical foundation for the website to evolve as the organisation’s digital requirements grow.

Spektrix Integration

A key requirement of the project was a seamless integration with Spektrix, connecting the website directly with the organisation’s ticketing and event management platform.

The integration allows visitors to discover events and move naturally through to booking and ticket purchasing without creating a fragmented experience between the website and ticketing system. Event information is presented consistently throughout the site, while integration with Spektrix helps streamline the management of event and booking information behind the scenes.

This creates a smoother journey from discovering an event through to purchasing a ticket, while reducing duplication and helping the team maintain accurate and up-to-date event information.
